2026-2027 School Budget Vote Results

The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School District is pleased to announce the successful passage of the 2026-2027 school budget. The $24,505,835 budget represents a 2.85% spending increase while maintaining a 0% increase to the property tax levy. District voters approved the budget with a final tally of 133 in favor and 34 opposed.
In addition to the budget approval, voters also approved the purchase of one SUV/van, one 65-passenger school bus, and related transportation equipment through the district’s Bus Purchase Reserve Fund. Residents also approved establishing a Capital Reserve Fund to support future improvements to district buildings and grounds.
In the Board of Education election, incumbents Ty Stowell (140 votes) and Shannon Smith (129 votes) were re-elected to the Board of Education for three-year terms.
“We are grateful to our residents for their participation in this year’s vote and thank them for their continued support of our schools,” said Superintendent Adam Heroth. “This budget reflects our district’s commitment to maintaining strong educational opportunities for students while remaining fiscally responsible. The approval of the transportation purchases and capital reserve will also help ensure we continue providing safe, efficient, and well-maintained learning environments for our students and community.”
