Lincoln on stage

D.H. Robbins students receive visit from Lincoln
History came alive for students at the David H. Robbins Elementary School recently with a visit from actor-storyteller Lou Del Bianco, who portrayed Abraham Lincoln.

In advance of Presidents Day, the actor’s portrayal of the 16th president illustrated anecdotes from Lincoln's childhood and of his rise as a lawyer, member of the Illinois state legislature and finally as president.

During the Feb. 7 assembly for students in kindergarten through the fifth grade, students got the chance to go on stage and perform alongside the actor helping to read parts of historic speeches made by Lincoln during his state legislative and presidential career.

Students also got the chance to participate in group exercises on stage.
