April 3, 2020
Dear OESJ CSD Families and Staff,
As many are aware, Governor Cuomo, on Mach 27, 2020, issued an executive order which kept schools closed until April 15. Unless the school closure is extended , we will return to school on Wednesday April 15. Throughout this time, all school districts are required to provide continuity of instruction every weekday, including days in the previously scheduled spring break (April 10-17).
In addition , the governor also issued an executive order on March 30, 2020 delaying school budget votes and board of education elections until AT LEAST June 1, 2020 and is subject to further directives as to the timing, location or maimer of voting for such elections. This will also effect the school district’s regular budget timelines and notifications. The various directions and executive orders continue to raise questions and concerns and hopefully they will provide some sort of roadmap on how we all proceed.
We recognize that this is a stressful and challenging situation and that you are managing many personal and professional responsibilities. Remember that these are truly unprecedented times we are living in.
We are grateful for your continued cooperation and dedication to our student s and your children.
We will continue to monitor the guidance and directives from various state and local agencies.
As conditions change, information will be disseminated through our web page and other available means.
Thank you for all your continued patience, understanding and support. We will get through this together.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph L. Natale
Interim Superintendent
