Thanks to the commitment the OESJ CSD Association of Professionals has to their community, their students will benefit from a $2,000.00 donation the Association chose to make.
Association President and Physical Education teacher Tim Barnes discussed the unmet needs of many students with Special Education teacher Rose Sammons and School Social Worker Darlene Marchand-Clifford. Finding funds to support these types of student needs is challenging. Tim suggested a donation to set up funding for these needs and thus a student support plan was formulated with unanimous support from the 90 member unit. The Association’s donation will be geared to providing students with basic needs of personal care supplies, clothing items, and school supplies. Additionally, included in the donation was funding to the Helping Hands Food Pantry which will work in conjunction with school staff to fill any food insecurity needs.
