OESJ Elementary Hosts March Math Madness

Students in grades 1-6 competed in March Math Madness. On day 1 of the competition, all students took a 5-minute timed addition test. In grades 5 and 6 there were more than a sweet 16, 28 students had a perfect score of 100. Blake Bergen, Rachel Merwin, Mikayla Thomas, Nathan Cannon, Mahala Pratt, Autumn Souza, Evan Stevens, Ashlyn Strobel, David Doxtader, Emerson Scherer, Olivia Chromczak, Sherri Dixon, Jade Dygert, Trace Keba, Carolyn Littrell, Bella Case, Licinda Coffin, Michael Green, Savannah Hayes, Jaslynn Leach, Abigail Miller, Angellina Saulle, Kendra Zeidner, Tristan Congdon, Anderson Eggleston, Sydney Schell, Jordan Simzer, and Kirsten Swartz.

In grades 3 and 4 we had a sweet 18. Karyn Castellano, Alyse Cannon, Samantha Darrow, Jeffery Lillard, Leonard Miller, EmmaJo Schmidtmann, Jeremy Vickery, Alyse Agnew, William Brundage, Kenneth Calabrese, Collin Eakin, Sydney Hazzard, Brooke Johnson, Lily Johnson, Jayden Brown, Kloe Case, Paige Marrone, and Quintin Schaffer.

In Grades 1 and 2 we had a sweet 16, Colton Marrone, Kendall Christman, Aristotle Hand, Alex Hernandez, Madeline Sammons-Wilbur, Henry Schoff, Peyton Spicci, Andrea Thayer, Kayleigh Araujo, Donald Cavanaugh, Josiah Darrow, Devin Schell, Hannah Walrath, Marshall Hughes, Audrina McAdams, and Richard Rumrill.

In the next competition, students took a subtraction test. In grades 1 and 2 the Elite 8 are Aristotle Hand, Alex Hernandez, Madeline Sammons-Wilbur, Andrea Thayer, Donald Cavanaugh, Devin Schell, Hannah Walrath, and Richard Rumrill.

In grades 3 and 4 we have an Elite 9 and they are Samantha Darrow, Jeffrey Lillard, Leonard Miller, EmmaJo Schmidtmann, Kenneth Calabrese, Collin Eakin, Sydney Hazzard, Jayden Brown, and Paige Marrone.

In grades 5 and 6 the Elite 8 are Blake Bergen, Mikayla Thomas, Nathan Cannon, Mahala Pratt, Jade Dygert, Tristan Congdon, Jordan Simzer, and Kirsten Swartz.

In the third competition, the students in grades 1-2 took a harder addition fact test and students in grades 3-6 took a multiplication test. In Grade 2 the Final 4 are Alex Hernandez, Madeline Sammons-Wilbur, Andrea Thayer and Devin Schell.

In Grade 4 the Final 4 are Jeffrey Lillard, Leonard Miller, Collin Eakin, and Paige Marrone.

In Grades 5 and 6 the Final 6 are Blake Bergen, Nathan Cannon, Mahala Pratt, Jade Dygert, Tristan Congdon, and Kirsten Swartz.

In the fourth competition students in grades 1-2 took a harder subtraction fact test and students in grades 3-6 took a division test. In grade 2 we don’t have a top 2 but we have a terrific 3 and they are Madeline Sammons-Wilbur, Andrea Thayer, and Devin Schell.

In grade 4 the terrific 2 are Collin Eakin and Leonard Miller.

In grades 5 and 6 we also have a terrific 3 and they are Blake Bergen, Nathan Cannon, and Jade Dygert.

In the last competition students took a mixed fact test, grades 1-2 addition and subtraction, students in grades 3-6 all operations.

Mrs. Parry would like to announce the final winners of March Math Madness 2017.

In grades 1 and 2 the winner is Devin Schell.

In grades 3 and 4 the winner is Leonard Miller.

In grades 5 and 6 we have a tie, the winners are Nathan Cannon and Jade Dygert.

Leonard Miller was out the day of the picture.
