PAWS Hosts Hollywood Gala

On Friday, May 19, Parents Advocating With Support (PAWS) hosted a formal mother/son father/daughter dance at the OESJ elementary school.  VIP guests were welcomed with a walk down the red carpet into the gymnasium.  Upon entering the gym, families could choose a table to sit and enjoy finger foods such as fruit, vegetables, chips, crackers, cheese, cupcakes, and punch.  Guests also had the opportunity to make crafts to give their date – the girls received beautiful diamond rings made of chocolate kisses while the boys received button boutonnieres (round pins) personally designed for them.  The dance floor was hopping all night with children and parents enjoying the music in their finery of gowns, dresses, suits, and ties.  A highlight of the evening was the slow dance where mothers and sons and fathers and daughters took a few minutes to bond with one another while enjoying the music.

PAWS would like to thank the faculty, staff, and parents who volunteered at the event with decorating, set-up, serving, music, crafting, bouncing, and clean-up!
