OESJ CSD to Conduct Comprehensive Culture Survey in May

In an effort to better understand the sentiments of stakeholders in regards to the school community, the OESJ School District has developed a comprehensive culture survey to illuminate the varying positions of residents, students, parents and employees. We believe that information gleaned from the survey will help us gain a clearer understanding of a variety of challenges and opportunities facing the district.

Throughout the month of May, residents of the OESJ School District are encouraged to access this culture survey via our website at www.oesj.org . The survey will be completed 100% online and can be taken from anywhere there is internet access. For those residents who are not comfortable using technology, or lack reliable internet access at home, computers and student technology support will be available to assist on the following dates and in the following locations;

  • Wednesday, May 4: Elementary School Media Center from 4-7 PM

  • Wednesday, May 11: Both Elementary and Jr/Sr Media Centers from 4-7 PM

  • Tuesday, May 17: Elementary Media Center from 3-7pm and Jr/Sr Auditorium from 12-7 PM

  • Wednesday, May 18: Both Elementary and Jr/Sr Media Centers from 4-7 PM

  • Wednesday, May 25: Both Elementary and Jr/Sr Media Centers from 4-7 PM

As stated, the culture survey will begin collecting data on May 1, 2016 and will close on May 31, 2016. We hope to hear from as many residents as possible during that month. The school district developed the survey in conjunction with renowned school culture consultant Dr. Katy Allen. Dr. Allen will collect the data after the survey window has closed and will present her findings to the Board of Education and the community in the months ahead. We hope the information gleaned from this undertaking will enable us to develop an actionable plan that is in line with the values and aspirations of the community at large.
