Mohawk Valley FFA Members Complete Hallway Murals

Mohawk Valley FFA members begin planning murals for the ag and tech hallways in the Spring of 2015.  Members spent the end of the 2014 - 2015 school year, much of their summer, and this fall painting the murals. There are three murals that take up almost all of the ag and tech hallways. There is a pole in the middle of the hallway that members painted to resemble an ear of corn. On each “kernel,” the members have recorded the officer team each year, starting with 2009 - 2010 school year when the chapter merged to become the Mohawk Valley FFA.  On the wall, there is a large FFA emblem and the quote “Through this door pass many friends of the FFA,” a line said by the sentinel in FFA Opening Ceremonies at events. The members wanted to not only beautify the hallway, but make the murals meaningful. The FFA emblem was painted to
promote the FFA chapter within the school, and the quote was painted to express an open door for anyone who would like to be a part of the Mohawk Valley FFA, not just farmers.  The last mural is a wordle, a composition of words related to agriculture and FFA in various colors and sizes.  The members worked hard on the murals, and their hard work shows, brightening the hallway that students enter and exit through daily.
