Local Students Attend State FFA Convention

On May 5 to 7, eight Mohawk Valley FFA members attended the New York State FFA Convention held at the OnCenter in Syracuse, NY. On the first day, members participated in the Day of Service, where they packed over 30,000 meals and made survival bracelets. Zach Tinkler participated in the State FFA talent show. Dakota Corapi, Jacob Battisti, and Casey Watson participated in the Ag Mechanics CDE, placing 12th as a team.  Aryn Feagles received her Empire Degree, the highest achievable FFA degree on the State Level. Laura Littrell and Zach Tinkler represented the chapter as delegates, serving on committees and voting during the business session and for District V president. Members also attended various sessions, where they heard the National FFA President Taylor
McNeel speak about “living palms up” as well as a keynote speaker, who talked about the importance of paying attention, making good choices, and making good stories. Students also got to attend Cirque Du Soleil, Wonder Works, and watch a hypnotist show. Members who attended were Aryn Feagles, Zach Tinkler, Laura Littrell, Dakota Corapi, Clayton Gallt, Jacob Battisti, Casey Watson, and Dylan Corapi.
