OESJ Students Partner with Chamber of Commerce

The Mohawk Valley FFA and Kristy Shafer’s Residential Structures class recently teamed up with the St. Johnsville Chamber of Commerce to construct benches and planters to be placed in town by the St. Johnsville Information Booth. During the 2014 - 2015 school year, Kristy Shafer’s Residential Structures class of high school students worked with the Chamber of Commerce to design and build the information booth located in town.  This year, Juanita Handy approached the group again with the prospect of designing and building planters and benches for the area.  The Residential Structures class worked in conjunction with the FFA chapter to design, build, paint, construct, and fill the planters.  Each set of two planters has a bench in the center, with four sets in total being constructed.  On Wednesday, June 17, students from both groups met in town to place the benches and fill the planters with flowers.
