POSTED 2/18/2013New voter registration event set for OESJ residents
The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School District will hold its first voter registration event from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 at both the David H. Robbins Elementary School and the OESJ Elementary/Middle School.
Residents who are registered with the Fulton or Montgomery County Board of Elections do not need to attend this event as county registration already enables voters to participate in OESJ elections and budget votes.
Residents who choose not to be registered with the county Board of Elections can still register to vote in OESJ elections by filling out a personal registration form and bringing it, in person, to the OESJ District Clerk’s office during normal school hours or to any of the upcoming registration events. Click here to download a personal registration form. Personal registration and county registration forms are also available at the district clerk’s office, and county forms are available at any U.S. Post Office. County forms can be returned to the county Board of Elections through the mail.
Additional voter registration events will be scheduled for OESJ residents prior to the May 20 OESJ budget vote and board of education election. A schedule of events will be posted as soon as it is available.
As all future OESJ budget votes, board elections and other referendums will have two polling sites – one at the D.H. Robbins school for St. Johnsville area residents and another at the OESJ Elementary/Middle School for Oppenheim and Ephratah area residents – residents must be registered, either with the school district or with their county Board of Elections, to be eligible to vote.
If you are unsure if you are registered, contact your county Board of Elections [Fulton County: (518) 736-5526 or (518) 736-5527 or Montgomery County: (518) 853-8180]. Residents can also contact OESJ District Clerk Anna O’Connell at (518)-568-2104 x. 104.
