2014 BOE election

POSTED 4/22/2014
Seven candidates seek OESJ Board of Education seats
Seven Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville residents will appear on the May 20 ballot for three seats available on the OESJ Board of Education.

The candidates are William J. Lints, Cynthia Breh, Michael Yezierski, Jason Romeyn, Mary Weaver, Stephanie Dye and Ty Stowell.  (Candidates are listed here in the same order as they will appear on the ballot.)

Up for election this year are seats currently held by Lints, Breh and Keith Handy, who is not running for re-election.

Two seats on the ballot will carry full terms of three years. The third seat, currently held by Lints, will fill out the remaining two years of the term won by Benedict Conte, who passed away last summer. In July, the board appointed Lints to fill that vacancy for the remainder of the year. His appointment will expire June 30.

The candidates with the two highest vote totals will win the full term seats, and the candidate with the third highest number of votes will receive the two-year term.
