OE Campus Announces Fourth Quarter Honor and High Honor Roll

Middle School Exam Schedule Announced

The OE Campus has posted their final exam schedule for grades six through eight.  It can be viewed on the Middle School Guidance Department Website here.

Middle School OESJ Wolf Gang Band Captures "Best in Class" honors at the Sherburne Pageant of Bands

Over the weekend, the OESJ Middle School Wolf Gang Band captured “Best in CLass” honors at the Sherburne Pageant of Bands.  In addition to this top award, the groups earned:

  • 1st Place in Parade

  • 1st Place in Color Guard

  • 1st Place in Small Ensemble

  • 1st Place in Drum line 

  • 3rd Place in Jazz Ensemble


Congratulations to the stellar students and musicians!  A huge thank you also to the school community, parents, and AMPs for your support. You make "our kids" shine!

OESJ Students Compete in Drug Quiz Competition

A team of OESJ students competed in the OESJ Drug Quiz Show on May 6, 2015, at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall in Johnstown.  The team is pictured below, and a letter commending them for their efforts can be seen here.

2014 - 2015 Sports Banquets Scheduled

The 2014-2015 JV/Varsity Sports Award Banquet will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the High School.  Dinner will start at 5:30, and awards will start at approximately 6:15.  There is no ticket charge for the banquet.


There will also be a Modified Sports Celebration event held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 3 to 5 PM.  This event will take place at the OE Campus.  All modified sports players are invited to attend.

OE Campus Concerts Announced

On Thursday, May 21, 2015, the OE Campus Elementary Concert and the Middle School Concert will run consecutively. The Elementary Concert will begin at 6:00 PM. Following a short intermission, we will continue with the MS Concert.

Annual Memorial Day Celebration Announced

On Friday, May 22, 2015, the Middle School and OE Campus Elementary students will participate in the Oppenheim Parade and Rock Ceremony at the OE campus, and proceed into the gymatorium for the Assembly Concert.

OESJ Teacher Quarterfinalist for the Grammys Music Educator Award

DiAnne Mott has been student nominated, and is now a quarterfinalist for the Grammys Music Educator Award. Out of 4500 nominations in the country, 213 Music Educators have been selected as quarterfinalists.


This multi-step process includes: student nomination, submission of written essays, 2nd round screening and lesson plan ideas. The next and final process will include numerous video essays featuring our students and school community.


The winner of this Award will attend the Grammys in California, and receive a $10,000 grant for their district.

Date Set for For Fall 2015 Sports’ Physicals at the High School

Sports physicals will be done at the high school by our school physician, Dr. Julie Perlanski, on Wednesday, May 20.  Please call the high school at 518-568-2011 or the middle school at 518-568-2014 ext. 112 to schedule and appointment as soon as possible.  If you will be a 7-12 grader in the 15-16 school year, please consider having a physical in the event you would like to play sports or obtain a working card. If you have questions, please call us immediately.

The OESJ National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held on May 28, 2015, at 6:30 P.M. in the cafetorium at the O-E campus.  Congratulations to the 28 students who will be inducted.

Modified Sports Team Volunteers Their Time

Last weekend, the OESJ Boys’ Modified Baseball team along with the St. Johnsville Youth Center and the Montgomery County Division of Youth volunteered their time raking and cleaning the yards of our local WWII Veterans.

OESJ Elementary “Dives into Reading”

Students in grades PK-5 at the OE campus kicked off their PARP program on March 2.  The theme this year was “Dive into Reading”.  The elementary hallways were decorated as if you were swimming underwater.  Read the entire story, including pictures, here.

Middle School Concert and AMPS Chicken Barbecue Scheduled

On Friday, March 27, 2015, the Middle School "Best Selfie" Mash Concert will be performed at the OE Campus at 1:00 P.M. as an assembly, and 6:00 P.M. for the concert.  Prior to the concert, the AMPs will sponsor a Chicken Barbecue in the OE Campus Cafeteria on from 3:00 to 5:30 P.M. while supplies last.  Chicken dinners are $8.50; chicken halves or children’s meals are $6.

Pre-Kindergarten and New Kindergarten Student Registration

The OESJ Central School District announces registration for Pre-Kindergarten and new Kindergarten students.  The district will begin to mail out registration packets to families that they know have Pre-K aged children during the week of March 2.

A child who turns 4 years of age prior to December 1, 2015, is eligible to enroll in Pre-K.  Please contact Julie Taylor at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School, 518-568-7023, or Anna O’Connell at the OESJ Elementary/Middle School, 518-568-2014, ext. 104, to obtain a registration packet.

Date Change for OE Campus Active Parenting Now Workshops

In the months of March and April, Catholic Charities will be hosting a series of workshops at the Oppenheim Campus for parents of students aged 5 - 12.  The dates of the workshops for the Oppenheim Campus have changed, so please consult the flyer for the latest information available here.  The series of workshops to be held at the D.H. Robbins Elementary School will continue as previously scheduled.

OESJ Holds Spelling Bee

Spelling Bee to be Held Wednesday, January 28, 2015

A Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the High School Auditorium starting at 9 A.M.  Representatives from grades four through eight will be competing, with all students in grades three through eight from both the D.H. Robbins Elementary School and the Oppenheim Campus in attendance.  Community members are welcome to attend.


If needed, a snow date of Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the same time and location has been scheduled.

Ally Pereira Scheduled to Speak to OESJ Middle and High School Students

Ally will be visiting our district on January 30, 2015, to talk to our high school and middle school students about sexting and the effects it has on students and the entire school community.   Along will Ms.Pereira, there will be a New York State trooper included in the discussions.  For more information, click here.

OESJ CSD to Host Active Parenting Now Workshops

In the months of February and March, Catholic Charities will be hosting a series of workshops at both the D.H. Robbins Elementary and Oppenheim Campus for parents of students aged 5 - 12.  According to the flyer, "this entertaining and informative program uses video, activities and discussion to show you ways to raise responsible, cooperative children who are able to resist negative peer pressure."  Find more information, including how to register, dates, and times, here.

Act with Respect Always Presentation

On Wednesday, November 19 at 6:30 PM in the High School Auditorium, Coach Rich Johns will present his presentation “Act with Respect Always.”  All are invited to attend, with student athletes and their parents required to attend.  More information on Coach Rich Johns and his message can be found on his website.  A brief review of his presentation at the D.H. Help Us Help Our Troops Overseas

OESJ sixth graders have been put in contact with a graduate of the former OE district who is now serving in the Army and is stationed overseas. They have written letters to him and are now in the process of collecting items to make care packages to send over to be distributed to other soldiers. They are asking for donations of items for the care packages, with hopes to put together 100 care packages, get them sent out right around Thanksgiving for arrival by Christmas time.  View the flyer here for more information on how and what to donate!

Middle School Teen Scene Event

Grade 6 through 8 students are invited to a Teen Scene event Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. sponsored by the PTA.  There will be a DJ, activities in the gym, a movie in the library, and refreshments.  There is no charge for the event, but students must bring a signed permission slip with them.

OE Campus Open House Announcement
The OESJ Elementary/Middle School Open House will be on Tuesday, 9/23/14 beginning at 6:00 with an Ice Cream Social in the cafeteria at 7:00. This is a great opportunity for parents and community members to visit the school to learn about programs and meet the teachers and staff.
